TEAMS AND ELIGIBILITY

No. KYO will try to maintain parity among our teams. That is the
purpose for the draft.

Yes
If my son is already an established player with a team, will he
remain on the same team?
Yes. However, if registration numbers warrant a third (or more)
team added at a grade level, players on an existing team can elect
to re-enter the draft.
What are the weight limits and eligibility policies?
KINGS Youth Football is for players who live within the
Kings Local School District Boundaries-are who attend
private school with in the Kings Local School District.
CYFL is very strict about weight. Each player must weigh in before
every game. If they are overweight, they will be declared ineligible
for that game. If they are over 10 lbs of the weight limit, they are
ineligible to participate in any contact drills in practice as well. The
current weight limits as defined by CYFL are as follows:
1st grade and can not turn 8 by November 15 of same year
90 lbs. maximum weight with no helmet, shoes or shoulder pads.
2nd grade and can not turn 9 by November 15 of same year
95 lbs. maximum weight with no helmet, shoes or shoulder pads.
3rd grade and can not turn 10 by November 15 of same year
105 lbs. maximum weight with no helmet, shoes or shoulder pads.
4th grade and can not turn 11 by November 15 of same year
115 lbs. maximum weight with no helmet, shoes or shoulder pads.

125 lbs. maximum weight with no helmet, shoes or shoulder pads.
6th grade and can not turn 13 by November 15 of same year
140 lbs. maximum weight with no helmet, shoes or shoulder pads.
However, with the 2007 season CYFL has made the
following weight changes:
A 3lb weight allowance will be added to all grades at the fourth
game of the regular CYFL football season.
If weight is an issue, can my player move up an age group?
If determined prior to the first game, the player can move up one
grade level. Any issues after the first game will not be approved.
EQUIPMENT
What equipment will I need?
KYO provides all necessary pads, helmet, game jersey and game
pants, and practice jersey. However, players are responsible for
practice pants and shoes. The shoes must have molded bottoms,
not screw in cleats. Game pants are not to be worn during
practices.
What equipment do I get to keep?
You will be issued a personalized game jersey and a mouthpiece
that is yours to keep at the end of the season.
When is equipment pickup?
Equipment pickup is generally in late June or early July.
PRACTICES AND GAMES
When and where do we play our games?
Games are played at the 11 different communities in the league
(Field Directions). 1st, 2nd & 3rd grades (for the most part) play
on Saturdays. 4th, 5th & 6th grades (for the most part) play on
Sundays. Our home field is the Kings High School Stadium.
Please keep in mind that even if your schedule says you are the
Home Team, it does not necessarily mean that you are playing at
our field. Each game will be assigned a location.
Where do we practice?
All practices are held at Landen Park.
How many practices per week?
The number of practices is totally at the discretion of the head
coach. Some teams practice as many as 5 times per week prior to
the beginning of the school year.
When do practices start ?
Practices will start the week of July 27th. We would like to suggest
that you consider scheduling family vacations prior to the start of
weekly practices if possible. It is very helpful to the child and to the
team if they all can begin working together from the very start of
the season. It is the goal of KYO that each child is prepared and
confident and each practice gives the coaches an opportunity to
help your child achieve these goals.
When does the season officially begin?
Effective with the 2009 season, CYFL has adopted the following
"season" schedule:
July 27 - Practice Starts
When is the Kings Bowl?
Kings Bowl will be held on Labor Day weekend. Details will follow as
determined.
OTHER
What else do I need to do as a parent ?
This organization is run and supported by all volunteers. You will
be asked to help run the concession stand and set up/tear down
on your team’s Home Day, Kings Bowl and potential Post-Season
games played at Kings. It is the responsibility of all coaches and
parents to participate in these events. See the Home Day for
additional information.
Can I bring my pet to practices and games?

Please do not bring them.
